CRTC Compliance
Kurnl operates within Canada’s telecommunications regulatory framework and complies with applicable requirements set by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). We are committed to transparency, fair access, and open network principles.
Our Role in the Network
Kurnl provides open-access fibre infrastructure within multi-tenant residential buildings.
Kurnl is not a retail internet service provider. Instead, we enable multiple independent ISPs to operate on shared infrastructure, giving residents choice and improving service quality.
All retail services are provided directly by participating ISPs.
CRTC Compliance
Kurnl operates in accordance with applicable Canadian telecommunications regulations.
This includes:
- Supporting fair and non-discriminatory access to infrastructure
- Enabling competitive service provision by independent ISPs
- Adhering to applicable licensing and regulatory requirements
Additional regulatory obligations may apply to participating service providers.
Open Access Principles
Kurnl’s infrastructure is designed to support multiple service providers on equal terms.
Our model:
- Does not require exclusivity agreements
- Allows residents to choose their preferred provider
- Enables competition within buildings
- Supports long-term infrastructure value for property owners
This approach aligns with global best practices in open-access fibre networks.
Consumer Protection & ISP Responsibility
Internet, television, and related services are delivered by independent ISPs operating on the Kurnl network.
Each ISP is responsible for:
- Service delivery and performance
- Pricing and billing
- Customer support
- Compliance with applicable consumer protection regulations
Residents should contact their selected ISP directly for service-related inquiries.
Complaints & Escalation
If you have a concern related to your telecommunications service, we recommend contacting your service provider directly.
If your issue is not resolved, you may contact the appropriate regulatory body, including the Commission for Complaints for Telecom-television Services (CCTS), where applicable.
Kurnl may be contacted for infrastructure-related inquiries.
